About B

I have a BS in Molecular/Cell Biology and a BA in Science Communication.

I never use the “e”-word to describe a problem: if this material was easy, tutors wouldn’t exist in the first place. That said, my job isn’t to dispense answers or do your homework for you, but to meet you where you are and help you get to where you want to be.

Over the last 5 years, I have built an extensive toolkit to help you develop mastery of the material. Among the hundreds of people I've tutored, many now work in related industries or are currently pursuing advanced degrees.

About the lesson

I don't believe in "one size fits all" education.

In our first (FREE!) meeting, we will talk about your goals, learning style, experience, accessibility needs, and general attitudes toward the subject matter. A few days before each tutoring session, I ask that you send your homework, notes, previous quizzes, study guides, or any other materials that you're working with.

This will help me custom tailor things to fit your individual needs.

I have experience tutoring the following undergrad-level subjects:

General Biology
Cell & Molecular Biology
Transmission & Population Genetics
Anatomy & Physiology
Microbiology
Evolutionary & Developmental Biology
Biochemistry
General Chemistry
Organic Chemistry
Algebra-based Physics
Introductory Programming in Python
Science Writing & Science Communication
Bioinformatics
Introductory Discrete Math
Digital Logic
Experiment Design

B helped me survive and thrive in a rigorous combined biochemistry/organic chemistry program. He emphasized not just memorizing, but understanding the material, and he never failed to provide memorable examples of how to apply the concepts and calculations he explained to everyday life. If you need a tutor you can count on to help you make the most of the material, I highly recommend B.
