About Philippa
I am currently in my first year at Exeter University studying Biological Sciences. I have tutored for the past two years in Latin, Biology and Chemistry helping students to achieve their desired grades, for example, my last student went from a low C to an A in Biology and Chemistry for GCSE. As I am studying biology at university I believe that this gives me experience to specialise in biology tutoring and shows I have a real passion for this subject.

I give lessons to any student up to A level in Biology and GCSE in Chemistry. I like to prepare notes for the student before the lesson on an area that they are struggling with and then go through them and let the student re-write or draw them out depending on their learning style. I also know that it is important for the revision to be focussed around the specification of the exam board in order to achieve as high marks as possible. At the end of each session, I will ask what they would like to cover in the next lesson and also provide them with questions if they feel they need them. I strive to create an environment that is different from the one at school, with less pressure and more freedom to ask questions that you may not want to ask your teacher.
