Ms Monica was my middle school science and IGCSE Biology teacher, and she had a huge impact on my love for the subject. She is incredibly dedicated, patient, and passionate, always making sure her students fully understand the content and never leaving any stone unturned. Her support and encouragement during school helped me believe in myself and inspired me to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Biology. I first met Mrs. Monica when she was my Grade 8 science teacher, and over the years she continued to teach me Biology at both O Level and A Level. Having been her student for so many years gave me the opportunity to experience not only her exceptional teaching but also the genuine care and dedication she has for every one of her students. During that time, I also had the opportunity to assist her in the classroom as a teacher assistant, which gave me an even greater appreciation for the thought, effort, and passion she puts into every lesson.
What I appreciate most about Mrs. Monica's teaching is her incredible ability to explain even the most challenging concepts in a simple, engaging, and easy to understand way. She always made sure we truly understood the material rather than just memorizing it, while also preparing us thoroughly for exam style questions. Her lessons were always well structured, interactive, and enjoyable. She regularly incorporated fun classroom activities and discussions that kept us engaged, making learning feel exciting instead of repetitive. Her classroom was always a positive, encouraging environment where every student felt comfortable asking questions and participating.
One of my favorite memories is how every lesson felt different because of the creative activities she planned. Those experiences made Biology one of the subjects I looked forward to the most and helped build both my confidence and my love for learning. Being her teacher assistant also allowed me to see the amount of care and preparation she invested behind the scenes to ensure every student had the best possible learning experience.
Beyond being an outstanding teacher, Mrs. Monica became a mentor who played an important role in my personal growth. She watched me grow from a young student into a young adult, always offering guidance, encouragement, and support whenever I needed it. She inspired me to believe in myself, explore my interests, and pursue my goals with confidence. Even after I graduated, she has remained an important part of my life, and I am grateful to now call her a dear friend.
