Before Yr 11, I felt as if I was a genius, breezing through Years 7 - 10 on just memorisation and regurgitating it back out during exam time. But ๐˜๐ž๐š๐ซ ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ ๐ฐ๐š๐ฌ ๐š ๐ซ๐ž๐š๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐œ๐ก๐ž๐œ๐ค โ€” ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ฐ๐จ๐ซ๐ค๐ฅ๐จ๐š๐, ๐ฉ๐š๐œ๐ž, ๐š๐ง๐ ๐๐ข๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐ข๐œ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ญ๐ฒ ๐ฌ๐ค๐ฒ๐ซ๐จ๐œ๐ค๐ž๐ญ๐ž๐. And the expectation was that you would just figure it out yourself. I would sometimes see questions and just completely blank - โ€œI swear we never learnt this in classโ€.

The transition was overwhelming. I struggled significantly during the first half of Year 11, particularly in harder theoretical subjects like Physics. It was disheartening to watch others around me seemingly breeze through certain concepts that I found daunting, wanting even more to just drop Physics in Year 11, with below average marks.

Nevertheless, I persevered. With a fresh start in Year 12, I focused on reinforcing my fundamentals, ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐œ๐ซ๐ž๐š๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž ๐š๐ง๐š๐ฅ๐จ๐ ๐ข๐ž๐ฌ ๐ญ๐จ ๐ฆ๐š๐ค๐ž ๐œ๐จ๐ง๐œ๐ž๐ฉ๐ญ๐ฌ ๐ž๐š๐ฌ๐ข๐ž๐ซ ๐ญ๐จ ๐ซ๐ž๐ฆ๐ž๐ฆ๐›๐ž๐ซ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ฎ๐ง๐๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ๐ญ๐š๐ง๐ instead of relying on low-level rote memorization. And quickly, within the first term of year 12 physics, my marks had jumped to top 15th in the grade. Not a bad start. From there, I began to really understand and enjoy physics.

However, after making the switch, many contact us directly saying they actually prefer online - saving them over an hour of travel time and learning from the comfort of their own room. Our lessons involve frequent and personalised engagement, making it that much easier for students to stay focused โ€” unlike the boring 30 student online school classes during COVID that students that often felt disengaging.

Once a major topic is completed, we tackle more challenging past exam-style questions to ensure students are well-prepared for exams.
