About John Joseph

I have been teaching Arabic on and off since 2002. My original university degree was Spanish language and literature with a minor in Arabic at the University of Granada, Spain. I then went to Saudi Arabia where I lived for four years and got a degree in Arabic and Islamic studies from the Arabic language institute at Umm Al-Qura University. Finally, I got my bachelor’s in Arabic/Spanish translation and interpreting from the University of Granada, Spain.

About the lesson

As a person who studied Arabic as a foreign language, I know the difficulties non-Arab students encounter when studying this beautiful language for the first time. And while I explain the letters, how they are used to form words, and how the words become sentences, I am also conveying my passion for the new learner. And passion helps the student overcome all difficulties.
