About Imogen
Hello! I'm Imogen, an artist living in Coventry.
Last year I graduated from Arts University Bournemouth, and I'm now taking steps into a career in fine art. I am currently exhibiting work at the Herbert, and am participating in markets across Coventry and Warwickshire.
I also maintain a permanent hanging space in a local café, rotating greetings cards and paintings seasonally.
My favourite things to paint are impressionistic oil paint landscapes, and I take lots of my inspiration from national parks and places in the local area, like Coombe Abbey and Brandon Marsh. I am also happy to teach about some of the monetary aspects of art and the process of turning it from a hobby to a business.

I balance research and context with practical outcomes, exploring different techniques according to students' interests and skillsets.
Incorporating fundamentals like anatomy, colour theory, perspective and line quality into students' work allows for a fun and rewarding cycle of feedback and improvement, where students can see their growth as they learn!
A typical lesson would be around an hour, starting with a warm-up and then getting into an assigned task or feedback. My lessons would suit anyone from GCSE age onwards, and are tailored to students' interests, goals and skills. I'd be happy to chat about the business side of art as well, exploring avenues for income when getting to a professional level.
