About Camilla

Hello, my name is Camilla. Academic tutoring has been a passion of mine since high school, and I’ve now been teaching and mentoring for more than 11 years. In that time, I’ve worked with students across four countries and in four languages, which has given me a wide perspective and a lot of experience helping people with very different goals and challenges.

Alongside tutoring, I bring a juggernaut of an academic and research background. I hold a Master’s in Global Affairs, studied at Oxford during my undergraduate years, researched with the UN’s International Organization for Migration, and now work as an AI governance researcher. That means I bring both academic depth and real-world insight to our work.

Over the years, I’ve helped students get into Ivy League universities, get their dream jobs, grow in confidence, and move closer to the futures they want for themselves. I thrive when I get to help my students feel more capable, more prepared, and more sure of what they can do.

I’m passionate about teaching, deeply encouraging by nature, and a chronic optimist. I believe students often underestimate their own potential, and one of the things I care about most is helping them see it for themselves.

About the lesson

My tutoring is built around understanding and structure. In the first lesson, we’ll figure out who and where you are, where you want to go, and what’s getting in the way, then I’ll put together a plan that’s tailored to you. I like to start with the fundamentals, make sure they’re truly solid, and then build step by step upward until the bigger picture starts to click.

My teaching style is active and encouraging. I'm really good at breaking difficult ideas down, and explaining them in a way that makes sense. I’m not interested in quick fixes that disappear after one test I want students to leave with a stronger understanding and much more confidence.

Depending on what you need, a typical lesson might review concepts, work through problem areas, prepare for exams, improve writing, or tackle assignments together. Every lesson is unique, really, and built around helping you make real progress and feel more capable in the subject.

I work with students from high school to postgraduate, to professional level, including support with school subjects, SAT preparation, course review, college applications, academic writing, paper evaluation, thesis preparation, and exam support. I also help professionals become more confident in their English for the workplace and for speaking needs in a corporate environment.

What sets me apart is that I've really seen it all in my experience, from age to levels of English, and I can help you shine. I combine standards of excellence with a very positive, student-centered approach. I want students to feel challenged, supported, and genuinely capable of improving. With the right structure and guidance, difficult material becomes much less intimidating- and often much more interesting too!
