About Iris
I’m a third-year physiology student with a strong passion for martial arts and the human body. As a student, I often felt insecure about my abilities, and it was through tutoring that I gained the confidence to improve both my academic performance and my life. Education should be accessible to all, and I truly understand the vulnerability that comes with needing help. Having faced the challenges of papers without tutors available outside of university, I’m now passionate about empowering students to help them build confidence in their own abilities and improve their academic experience.

Lesson Structure:
Typical lessons can be scheduled at flexible times to suit the student’s needs. Lessons include a mix of concept explanations, worked examples, and practice questions, with guidance provided throughout and support for independent study.
Approach to Tutoring:
I help students build independence in each paper. With unfamiliar and dense material, it can be overwhelming to know where to start, so I guide students on what is essential versus supplementary, saving them hours of unnecessary work. Lessons are tailored to the student’s pace, and I encourage questions, providing clear explanations and step-by-step guidance for any queries.
Qualifications and Experience:
I am a 3rd Year Physiology student at the University of Auckland, with A+ grades in ASTRO 200 (First in Course award), EXERSCI 101, PSYCH 109 and SCIGEN 201. I have several years of peer tutoring experience and enjoy helping students understand complex scientific concepts clearly and efficiently.
