About Stella
Having just completed the third year of my integrated masters (MSci degree) in Biology at the University of Bristol, I want to use my skills to aid GCSE students affected by school cancellations.
Over 3rd year, I worked part time as a Peer Assisted Study Leader, where I ran weekly tutoring sessions with groups of 2nd year biology students. We covered complex course material including statistics, molecular genetics and coding.
My university experience so far has enabled me with a range of research and laboratory experience alongside theoretical proficiency and a real passion for my subject, which I love to share with others.

My year of part-time tutoring experience has influenced my teaching style; I want to make my lessons as useful as possible to the student by letting them chose subject matter and building my activities around this. I like to discuss topics in detail, and then reinforce understanding using quizzes or games. I used a variety of similar activities when I taught statistical methods and molecular genetics to 2nd year biologists at Bristol.
Given the current situation, we would do remote teaching via webcam (Zoom or Skype). This means location is no problem.
