About Michael
Over two decades of experience playing and teaching music have given me the privilege of watching absolute beginners transform: students who started convinced "piano isn't for me" now sit down and play with joy and skill. My background as a complete musician—singing, training choirs, and directing bands—enriches how I introduce piano to newcomers. Holding a Yousician Grade 6 certification as a pianist ensures I bring proven, high-level techniques simplified perfectly for beginners.

I teach holistically from the start: helping you develop both strong chord voicings, rhythm, and left-hand accompaniment skills alongside right-hand melodies, simple improvisation, and musical expression—so you're not limited to just chords without melody or melody without harmony.
