About Ahmad S Matar

Are you one of those who think Arabic it is very difficult? Learning is easier when you feel the language closer to you: many words come from Hispanic Arabic... You will be surprised!
I have experience of more than 4 years, teaching firstly to international volunteers in Greek refugee camps and later as teacher-volunteer in some NGOs. Since 2016, I organize “Hablabla Árabe”, a weekly activity where students from the Official School of Languages in A Coruña and other people who study on their own participate, to practice and correct conversational Arabic. We play games, have some tea, dance, talk about Arabic cultures and much more. During confinement we do it by Skype!
Being born in Syria and speaking its dialects brings me closer to classical Arabic, which I master. I think that humans learn languages as sounds before they can write, so I like to start teaching how to listen and speak by copying sounds (orally, like children) and then… we will write. Although I also have materials and books for children and adults who want to learn to write and read in Arabic. In addition, in my classes I love to share other aspects related to the language, such as the cultures, traditions and diverse beliefs of the Arab countries. But, please, always bring the smile with you to learn as fast and fun as possible.

#quedateencasa is the perfect time to learn Arabic, being at home because of the coronavirus, we have more time to practice classical Arabic or the Syrian dialect. We stay at home, but we support each other to get out of this crisis stronger and safer, speaking Arabic.

About the lesson
