About Yves
Yves has over 30 years of experience teaching piano to adults, children and teenagers. We can often use music they enjoy, and introduce proven repertoire from a variety of styles (classical, jazz, rock, pop and rap). To guide you, I rely on my experience in live performance--for social events, choirs, parties, theater, sports events, weddings and funerals. Credentials include: B.A. in philosophy with classical music performance credits. Winner of the Vanier Music Hall talent show two years in a row. Synthesizer use for music production: sound effects (for CBC radio) and themes (for Rogers cablevision).

Lessons can be fun and helpful. You will enjoy tips and tricks to play for yourself, for friends, or to prepare an examination (Level 1 to 7): your choice. Music that you enjoy, and your goal(s) are the priorities. Your questions will be answered. I focus on: 1-How to name pitches in melodies and chords. 2-How to use rhythms, and even them out at the keyboard. 3-How to best memorize your song/piece, to play it without, or with, printed music. Learn at your pace, use your feelings and my suggestions. The aim is to improve and enjoy, not criticize. Lessons can be given in English or French.
