About Julian Mr M
Hi, I'm Julian Mr M, creator of the Connection, Rhythm & Flow Methodology, founder of Ritmo Latino Dance Studio & Events in London, and a professional dance educator with more than 25 years of teaching experience.
Dance has been my profession, my passion and a major part of my life for more than two decades. During that time I have taught thousands of dancers, from complete beginners taking their first steps to advanced dancers, performers and professional teachers.
I am often described as a teacher of teachers because many of the dancers I have trained and mentored have gone on to become successful dance teachers themselves, both in the UK and internationally.
Connection, Rhythm & Flow
Throughout my career I became increasingly interested in one question:
What actually makes someone a good dancer?
I realised that learning more and more steps was not enough.
Great dancing comes from understanding how to connect with yourself, the music and another person, how to understand and interpret rhythm, and how to bring those elements together until movement begins to flow naturally.
This became the foundation of the Connection, Rhythm & Flow Methodology.
My approach combines more than 25 years of practical teaching experience with an ongoing study of movement, musicality, partner connection, learning and the relationship between the brain, body and music.
The objective is not to create dancers who simply copy their teacher.
I want to develop dancers who understand what they are doing, why they are doing it and eventually have the confidence to make their dancing their own.
My background
I am a Salsa and Bachata teacher, choreographer, DJ, dance educator and event organiser, with extensive experience in Latin social dance.
Through Ritmo Latino, Bachata Tuesdays and my wider teaching work, I have spent many years developing dancers, teachers, teaching concepts, movement principles and approaches to Bachata and Salsa education.
My experience covers areas including Salsa, Mambo, Bachata Moderna, Bachata Fusion, Dominican Bachata, musicality, partner connection, footwork, body movement, performance and teacher development.
But regardless of someone's level, I still believe that the most important part of teaching is understanding the individual standing in front of me.
Some people want to feel confident enough to ask someone to dance.
Some want to improve their connection or musicality.
Some want to become excellent social dancers.
Others want to perform, teach or completely transform the way they understand dance.
My role as a teacher is to recognise where you are, understand where you want to go and help you find the most effective path between the two.
A professional home for your training
I am also the founder of Ritmo Latino Dance Studio & Events in Vauxhall, Central London, where my private lessons take place.
Having our own professional dance studio gives my students a dedicated environment where we can properly work on movement, technique, musicality, partnerwork and development without the limitations of trying to practise in unsuitable spaces.
Whether you are taking your very first dance lesson or you are already an experienced dancer or teacher, you are welcome.
After more than 25 years of teaching, I still believe every dancer has something unique waiting to be discovered.

About My Dance Classes
My private dance classes are built around the Connection, Rhythm & Flow Methodology, a complete approach to dance training designed to help you understand your movement, connect with the music and your partner, and develop confidence, creativity and individuality.
Every lesson is personalised around you, your level, your goals and the way you learn best.
Rather than simply teaching you combinations to memorise, I help you understand why movement works, how rhythm influences your dancing, how connection is created, and how to develop natural flow.
Whether you are a complete beginner, a social dancer wanting more confidence, an experienced dancer looking to improve technique, or a teacher wanting to develop further, we begin by identifying where you are now and where you want your dancing to go.
From there, we create a clear pathway focused on the areas that will make the biggest difference.

Connection, Rhythm & Flow
The methodology develops three essential areas of your dancing:
Connection: learning to connect with yourself, the music, your partner and your surroundings.
Rhythm: developing timing, musical awareness, coordination and the ability to interpret what you hear.
Flow: bringing everything together so your dancing becomes more natural, creative and expressive rather than feeling like a sequence of memorised movements.
If you are a beginner
We build strong foundations from the beginning, working at your pace and making everything clear and achievable.
You will learn the steps, but also how to understand timing, rhythm, movement and connection so you can feel comfortable dancing socially.
If you already dance
We can analyse your dancing in detail and identify the areas that may be limiting your progress.
We can work on connection, musicality, body movement, technique, partner communication, styling, creativity and flow to help take your dancing to the next level.
If you are a dance teacher
Lessons can also focus on teaching methodology, movement analysis, class structure, communication, musicality, creativity and developing your individual identity as an educator.
Professional Studio Environment
All private lessons take place at Ritmo Latino Dance Studio & Events in Vauxhall, Central London, giving you a dedicated professional dance environment where we can properly work on movement, partnerwork, musicality and technique.
The objective is not simply to teach you more steps.
It is to help you become a more confident, musical, connected and individual dancer.
