About Lorry Lae

Hi, I’m Lorry Lae, an experienced Math Teacher and Tutor with 10 years of teaching experience in both online and face-to-face settings.

I believe that every student can learn math when taught in a way that matches their needs and learning pace. My approach is patient, supportive, and student-centered, with a strong focus on building both understanding and confidence.

I work with students from middle school to high school, helping them strengthen their foundations, understand challenging concepts, prepare for assessments, and become more independent learners.

With my years of experience working with different types of learners, I understand that struggling with math does not mean a student is not capable. Sometimes, they simply need the right explanation, guidance, and encouragement.

About the lesson

Hi! I’m Lorry Lae, a math teacher with 10 years of teaching experience in both online and face-to-face settings. My goal is not just to help students get the correct answer, but to help them understand why the answer makes sense and become more confident in solving problems independently.

My Teaching Approach

I believe that every student learns differently. I start by understanding the student’s current level, learning style, strengths, and areas where they need more support. From there, I adjust my teaching pace and strategies to make lessons easier to understand and less intimidating.

I use step-by-step explanations, guided practice, real-life examples, visual representations, questioning techniques, and interactive activities. Instead of simply giving students the solution, I encourage them to think, explain their reasoning, and discover the solution with guidance.

A Typical Lesson

A lesson usually begins with a short review or warm-up to check what the student already knows. We then introduce the new concept using simple explanations and examples. After that, we work through problems together, gradually allowing the student to take the lead.

I also include practice questions to check understanding and identify areas that may need more explanation. At the end of the lesson, we review the key ideas and discuss what the student can work on next.

What Sets Me Apart

With 10 years of experience teaching both online and in the classroom, I’ve learned that effective teaching is not about using one method for everyone. I meet students where they are.

I’m patient with students who need more time, encouraging with those who lack confidence, and willing to challenge students who are ready to go further. I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions—even when they think the question is “too simple.”

For me, success is not only seeing a higher score. It is seeing a student say, “I understand it now. I can do this.”

Who My Lessons Are For

I primarily work with middle school and high school students who need help with mathematics, whether they are struggling with a specific topic, preparing for assessments, strengthening their foundation, or simply wanting to become more confident in math.

Lessons can be adapted to the student’s grade level, current ability, school curriculum, learning pace, and specific academic needs.

My goal is simple: make math understandable, build confidence, and help every student become a more independent learner.
