My lessons offer a unique blend of music and theology, combining insightful discussions with hands-on practice. We delve into essential worship concepts, exploring thought-provoking questions such as: What defines worship? What distinguishes healthy and unhealthy worship models? If we don't have to earn God's favor, why practice for worship? Who is the intended audience of worship? (The answers to these questions can be more complex than you might expect!)
On the musical side, my lessons cover a wide range of skills and concepts, providing tailored resources and engaging activities, including:
- Jazz and contemporary music theory
- Ear training exercises
- Foundational piano techniques
- Playing modern genres
- Improvisation techniques
- Reading sheet music

Q: Who can benefit from these lessons?
A: My lessons are suitable for anyone interested in exploring worship piano and worship leading. Whether you have a classical background but lack improvisational experience, you're already involved in worship leading but desire to enhance your piano skills, or you fall somewhere in between, these lessons are designed for you!
Q: Do you teach the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) curriculum?
A: No, while classical piano training is valuable, my lessons primarily focus on improvisation for contemporary genres. I do incorporate some classical elements to showcase the past masters' musical accomplishments, but my lessons do not prepare students for RCM exams.
