About Alf
I am a physicist by training (PhD - Nuclear Physics, 1989). I worked as a scientist in project management and production management in industry. For the last 20 years I worked in fixed income asset management. Throughout my career I have developed and used mathematical models, which is one of my passions. Another is explaining physics and math concepts to those who are keen to understand these things.

I like to work around examples and problems, as these are the best way to develop understanding. You will learn how to approach and solve problems without an over-emphasis on remembering facts and formulae. I like to explain concepts in everyday language, either face-to-face in online-video conferencing, or in electronic chat-style communication. We work at your speed; education is not a race!

Alf got me through school and explained concepts that I would never have figured out on my own. Alf is detail orientated and thorough. He explains complex theories simply and makes them easy to understand. Alf will definitely get your top grades!
I know Alf well and recommend him as a great tutor. He is extremely knowledgeable in the subjects he teaches. he is patient, and is able to find different ways to explain concepts to help his students understand.
I would strongly recommend Alf's tutoring; he has comprehensive all-around knowledge and helpfully explains broader concepts around the subject. He was always willing to spend the additional time necessary to promote understanding for me and was able to provide different explanations for concepts that may be more difficult to understand. Alf displayed great attention to detail, picking up minor errors as well as detecting when my understanding wasn't quite there.
Alf is a patient, thoughtful and highly insightful instructor. His teaching style is to ask you the right questions that lead you through the correct thought process that is required to solve a problem.
