About Jake
I am the co-writer of two West End musicals: The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole aged 13¾ (Leicester Curve, Menier Chocolate Factory, Ambassadors Theatre – nominated for the Evening Standard Award for Best Musical) and The Great British Bake Off (Cheltenham Everyman, Noël Coward Theatre – nominated for four Whatsonstage Awards).
I wrote the feature film Love Sarah starring Celia Imrie and Bill Paterson, the stage play Four Play – which premiered at the Old Vic Theatre starring Richard Madden - and I co-wrote the Christmas film Tinsel Town starring Kiefer Sutherland, Rebel Wilson and Derek Jacobi. My new stage adaptation of Treasure Island recently ran at Bristol Old Vic.
I trained as a playwright in evening classes at Nottingham Playhouse run by Theatre Writing Partnership, then at the Royal Court Theatre in London. I studied Drama at Bristol University.
