About Heidi

I have a BA in Psychology and Sociology, with an emphasis on patient adherence to medical treatment orders. My undergrad also included non-clinical 'peer helping' counselling courses handy for family and workplace interaction coaching. I later completed a Certified Personal Trainer program and currently eligible to work with fitness training for individuals and small groups. My special interest is on myofascial system and cognitive-behavioural aspects of self-directed components of health.

About the lesson

We start where you are at, no matter what size or age or ability. I aim to help you choose healthy behaviors, more than aiming to lose weight. We may not know how you gained weight, so let's focus on making great choices about what you take into your life from now on, as a strong start.

Conversation leads the way, and I'll motivate and guide your exercise program. My program planning methods are based on the American Council on Exercise model (the certifying body for my CPT designation). We'll take a look at flexibility, relaxation, cardio and resistance exercise, and can include yoga and body weight exercises at home or a gym. I'll adjust your program over time, when helpful to take you to the next level of activity and weight goals. I also encourage healthy eating, work-life balance, and maintaining healthy family relationships.
