About Harper

I built a career planning weddings and events for years before shifting toward teaching, and that hospitality background still shapes almost everything about how I run an ESL lesson today. Vocabulary training centres on service, hospitality, and coordination language, genuinely useful words many students need for hospitality work, customer service, or simply confident daily interactions. I run realistic roleplay constantly, practising workplace conversations, handling customer requests, and managing last-minute problems calmly, since these situations come up regularly in real jobs. Grammar gets taught through polite, professional phrasing, since tone and diplomacy matter enormously in workplace and service contexts many of my students navigate daily. Listening practice includes real conversational speech at natural pace, since customers and colleagues rarely speak slowly or clearly for anyone's convenience during a real shift. I teach students to stay calm and diplomatic under pressure, a skill years of live event management taught me matters more than almost anything else. Cultural context around workplace tone and appropriate formality receives real, dedicated attention throughout every single lesson. Confidence-building stays central, since hesitation causes far more real problems than actual vocabulary gaps ever do. Every lesson stays genuinely practical.
