About Yasmin
I have been in formal vocal tuition from age 11. Singing is my world and I have been lucky enough to go to Durham University to study music. I have performed at weddings, balls, cathedrals, festivals (Edinburgh Fringe Festival), and formal events. I have been a part of multiple choirs, ranging from chapel choirs to a cappella choirs. I have also been a backing vocalist for bands at Real World Studios and I am currently working on my first album, which I am so excited to release.
I hope to inspire a love of singing. It has given me purpose and joy in life and I hope to pass on that enthusiasm. Singing should be fun and expressive!

About the lesson

All ages and experience welcome!
In the initial lesson, I will spend time getting to know you, your interests, and your goals. I will then introduce some vocal exercises, starting to introduce technique, and then will ask you to sing a song of your choice to hear your voice and plan the best route forward.
My typical lesson plan is as followed:
Roughly 1/3 of the lesson is spent warming up, focussing on breath work and technique.
Then the following 2/3 is spent working on songs of your choice and bringing in the techniques learned.
My teaching method prioritises technique. I also will introduce some music theory into lessons if that is of interest.
If you are in the UK, I will usually suggest starting grades as it adds structure, goals, and certifications. If you are doing your GCSE's or A-Levels and looking to go to university, the higher grades (6-8) give you UCAS points.
If you are based outside the UK, we will follow the same path except for the UK grade system.
