About Jeanette
I have sung 50 roles in Operas and Musical Theatre from NYC, down the Eastern Seaboard, Canada and Europe.
As a performer, myself, I know what is needed for solo singing at 'auditions' and 'onstage.'
A strong vocal technique will protect your throat. (which can wear out by abusing it). Technique will build breath control so you can hold out those high notes. Technique will stretch your vocal range, clear tones and fast cadenzas (scale work) and projection of the voice over an orchestra Without a microphone! In the past, NONE of us used mics. With today's repertoire you often must use one now
Of course, THEN you must be able to convey what you are singing about - no matter in what language. Come study with a Vocal Technician, a Vocal Pro. Let's DO it, AND have Fun! JLV

I've had three excellent teachers starting at age 17. My Maestro had me singing opera arias within two-three months.
My other two female teachers continued breath, body and
how athletic singing is. Scale work builds range - high notes (Head voice). Performing in a lot of musical theatre helped me discover my belt voice.
Younger kids are auditioning for musicals, late teens for colleges demanding specific repertoire (classical - foreign languages, some pop). I speak Italian, German and French. I also play piano often accompanying my singers. All ages can apply. Guys, too, are welcome. My B.A. is in Drama.
