About Lydia
I am a Music and Musical Theatre graduate, and current Masters student in Voice Pedagogy. My experience in the industry, along with my technical knowledge of the working voice, lends me best to the aspiring Musical Theatre singer. In more recent years many students have been cross training their voice into pop styles as well as many new shows are performed in modern pop placements. Cultivating flexible and adaptive voices that are strong and able to sustain long term use is the ultimate goal. I want to help you find YOUR sound, a voice that is uniquely yours and deserves to be treated as such.
I care immensely about mental health and hope to encourage students of all identities and cultures to find comfort in their voice and abilities. The studio is a brave space where we positively challenge ourselves to make strides of improvements.
I value accessibility which is why I offer flexibility between online (zoom) lessons and in person. Unfortunately, my home teaching is not accessible by wheelchair.

I have been teaching for 6+ years and in that time have developed my own blended methodology that brings the best of current practises together to form what I believe to be a well rounded and adaptive curriculum for learners of all ages. Lessons are here to challenge and aid development of your voice. Singing is fun, but there are no short cuts; the fun comes from the work!
Exams are never a requirement, but if they are of interest, I teach Singing for Musical Theatre (ABRSM), and RSL awards (Pop Vocals).
Lessons can be, 30, 40, or 50 minutes in length, and taught either from my home on the Surrey/Hants border, or online. Best suited for ages 8+, beginner to advanced levels.

Details
Lessons are divided and costed as follows:
30 minutes- £25 (25 mins tuition, 5 mins prep/resource sourcing)
45 minutes- £35 (40 mins tuition, 5 mins prep/resource sourcing)
60 minutes- £45 (50 mins tuition, 10 mins prep/resource sourcing)
To ensure the best out of longer lessons, more time is given to preparation and completion of notes/resource packs for your development. The lesson costing is aligned with the time I dedicate to you and developing your voice. I will always endeavour to find the most relevant and evidence based approaches for you.
All new bookers will receive a 30 minute free lesson. This time is to help you see whether I am the right teacher for you, and for me to assess your voice for any issues I am not able help to help with, although i am a vocal health first aider, so can refer you on if needed.
