About Kritika
Hi I'm Kritika and thanks for stopping by!
I teach the Indian Carnatic violin for Beginner and Intermediate levels. If you'd like to come and try a different style of music or work on a style you've dabbled into before, here's a great place to start/start again. :)
I have been an educator for a year in schools in India and enjoy curating sessions that explore the violin through games, exercises and conversations.

The lessons will start with warmups and exercises to improve developing violin dexterity.
Depending on the level - students will learn foundational, structured violin exercises in Carnatic music that help explore accurate placement of notes on the violin, following rhythm and understanding the history and musical theory aspects of the melodic structure (termed as raaga).
The classes will also include picking up contemporary pieces and exploring improvisation.
For younger students starting out, we will explore the different aspects of the instrument and engage in exercises and games to learn the Carnatic violin and its role in Indian Classical Music.
