About Irene

I believe music is a gift that needs to be shared. Not only does it allow you to experience the world through different perspectives but it gives you transferable skills like discipline, creativity and facilitates excellent communication. I am here to teach you how to use these skills in our lessons and in everyday life through your practice and growth as a musician!

Because of these skills I was able to win my degrees (BMus from TLCMD and MPerf from the Royal College of Music) as well as multiple prestigious awards including the Trinity College London Scholarship, Beatrice Taylor Award and the Founders Scholar award. I have worked and recorded with musicians from all over the world and all genres, including Monster Florence (rap) at Abbey Road Studios and progrock band, Guranfoe. I was also Principle Violist of the Resonate Chamber Orchestra for the 2020 season and have had the pleasure of working with conductors John Wilson and Jac Van Steen for the 2018-2019 season at RCM, where I was Principle Violist of the New Perspectives ensemble in 2020.

Currently, I am collaborating with award winning composer, Ben Ramsden on releasing an album, ‘to care’ for string quartet and electronics with my quartet that I co-founded in 2018. We are currently premiering works by emerging composers and their own arrangements of folk songs from around the world. These works will be premiered in our 2022 Amsterdam tour.

About the lesson

Teaching is about nurturing the skills and strengths of my pupils. I am here to help you reach your goals and make sure that you are being challenged in a productive and helpful way. Every student is different so every plan will be different too!

Happy to teach at all levels and all systems including the Grade System, Suzuki and anything in between. I am comfortable teaching 1 to 1 as well as small groups. I typically teach from home and offer online lessons as well.

For ages 5-7, I recommend starting from 30-45 mins
Ages 7 and above 45-60 mins.
Adult learners from 45-90 mins
