About Marcia
I am a violin tutor with 11 years of experience and a PhD in Violin Performance. I enjoy helping students discover that patient practice and clear instruction can lead to meaningful musical success.
My lessons focus on technical excellence, artistic growth, and individual learning goals. I encourage students to build confidence while enjoying every step of their musical journey.
Outside teaching, I enjoy performing in string quartets, researching violin performance methods, and creating educational music resources. These experiences allow me to share practical knowledge and inspiring ideas in every lesson.

My violin lessons help students build reliable technique while enjoying every stage of musical learning. We focus on posture, bow control, finger placement, rhythm, intonation, scales, tone production, string crossings, and musical phrasing through carefully planned exercises and inspiring repertoire. Every lesson encourages confident and consistent improvement.
As learners become more advanced, we practice shifting, vibrato, sight reading, ensemble performance, recital preparation, ear training, musical interpretation, and organized practice strategies. I provide personalized guidance that helps students improve their technical ability while developing expressive playing.
My goal is to help students perform with confidence while building a lifelong appreciation for violin music. Every lesson develops creativity, discipline, and strong musical foundations.
