About Greg
Dr. Greg Jackson is a composer, educator, and author. He is currently an orchestra director in Cobb County, GA and has published over 170 compositions, 7 string quartets, and 6 symphonies. He majored in composition at Austin Peay State University, received a Master's in Music Theory and Composition at the University of Alabama, where he also completed a Doctorate in Musical Arts. He also received a Master's in Music Education from the University of Georgia focusing on String Pedagogy, and an advanced graduate studies certificate from Messiah University in orchestral conducting.

I am an advocate of using proven methods from Galamian and Flesch, along with current trends. Lessons would be a combination of strengthening technique through scales, methods such as Sevcik, Wohlfahrt, Kreutzer, etc., along with newer methods such as the Habits series and Sound Innovations. Students will also work on repertoire of their choice and suggested material.
