About Aaron

Hi there! Aaron Walton here. I am extremely passionate about the craft of acting and supporting the growth of actors. I previously ran an acting school, Evolution Acting, where i taught for 8 years. I have also helped run the auditions at the VCA and so have unique insights into the process of drama school auditions. I am also a psychologist and so create a very supportive and comfortable environment in which actors can truly grow. I have a current working with children check and love working with kids. I look forward to working with you! My acting bio is below:

Aaron is a graduate of the prestigious VCA, where he was the recipient of the Beleura John Tallis Award for Excellence in Acting. His theatre credits include the eponymous Antonio in The Merchant of Venice (Dir. Richard Murphet); Big Sky Town at the Arts Centre, Melbourne (Dir. Naomi Edwards) and the Green Room Award Nominated, Therese Raquin, in which he received reviews like, "some of the most beautiful, intense acting I have seen" (Melbourne. Arts. Fashion) and "perfect" (Concrete Playground). He appeared in Season 5 of Winners and Losers on the 7 Network, and his extensive film work includes lead roles in Vue/View, which was a finalist at the Melbourne Poetry in Film Festival, Heart Station, which enjoyed significant international film festival success, and Watch The Sunset (in which he plays the lead protagonist) which had its International Premiere at the coveted Montreal Film Festival in 2017, has received consistently rave reviews like, "One of the most impressive Australian features of the last five years", was named in Australia’s top 5 feature films of 2017 by Cinema Australia, and is streaming on Stan. Aaron also enjoys writing, sport, nondual meditation, and philosophy. He holds a Master of Clinical Psychology and works as a registered psychologist. He is also a PhD candidate at The University of Melbourne.

About the lesson

I employ a mixed methodology, curated from my VCA training and my wide experience. Given my unique academic background, I am analytical about my approach, and keep it grounded in practical techniques that I firmly believe are the most effective. My background as a psychologist also empowers my understanding of the human condition and helps my actors feel supported in their vulnerability and explore deep emotions whilst having fun!
