About Kirsten
I am a student studying a Bachelor of Commerce and Laws at the University of New South Wales. Last year, I graduated from Barker College and received an ATAR of 96.95 in the HSC. I have been tutoring English, General Mathematics and Business Studies privately for the past six months and have also been working as an English tutor at NumberWorks'nWords. Additionally, I take a weekly Creative Writing class for Years 1-3. I have experience teaching students from Kindergarten to Year 12, focusing particularly on essay and narrative writing skills and developing students’ confidence in their academic ability. I am a great teacher because I am enthusiastic, patient and dedicated to helping a student succeed in their school endeavours.

The tutoring sessions I provide are focused on essay and narrative writing, exam revision and assistance with editing written pieces. A typical lesson may involve analysing a past essay exam question, developing a thesis and designing an essay plan. This can be followed by identifying key language techniques in a text and discussion of their effects. My sessions are geared towards students who want to improve their academic performance and are interested in English. Lastly, my lessons are highly informative and also fun, leading students to feel inspired and motivated to increase their marks and ultimately display their full potential in their work.
