About Sharyn

Hi, I’m Sharyn, an online maths tutor and mum of two. I work with students in the IB/MYP, (KS2+) and Australian curriculum, with a special focus on learners who find school challenging or overwhelming. I have a calm, patient teaching style and I’m especially good with students who; have learning difficulties (e.g. slow processing, attention challenges, or weak working memory), struggle with confidence, have “maths anxiety,” or feel they are “bad at maths”, need instructions repeated, broken down, and explained in different ways, take longer to grasp concepts and easily feel discouraged In my lessons, I, Start from what the child can do and build from there Break tasks into small, manageable steps Use visuals, real-life examples, and lots of guided practice Give gentle, positive feedback and never rush or shame mistakes Communicate clearly with parents about progress and challenges

About the lesson

I believe every child learns differently — and that’s their superpower. I am trained to support neurodiverse learners with patience, creativity, and proven strategies that build confidence and skills. I have achieved success with many of my learners through; One-on-one, distraction-friendly sessions Executive-function & study-skills coaching Multi-sensory, engaging lessons Social skills support through online games from sites like IXL A caring, judgement-free learning environment

So far I have had 3 lessons with Stephen. He does a very good job in gauging your strengths and weaknesses. Once he finds them, he targets your weakness for the remainder of the lesson until you have a solid understanding. He also assigns you homework related to your weakness, allowing you to practice more. He reviews it at the start of the class and goes over any confusion. So, far I have learned a great deal and feel much more confident in my math abilities. I will continue to update this review as I continue my lessons with Wambui. Currently learning elementary mathematics (I was allergic to math) and plan to work my way past IB math. So far, highly recommend this tutor!

Miss Sharyn has been a great tutor, her sessions are very interactive and engaging. She uses an interactive whiteboard where my child writes his work and she corrects it in real-time. The practice materials are so fun. Learning math has become super easy given her approach.
