About Leo

Available for online tutoring (weekends and weekday evenings only EST).

Will respond to emails within 24 hours.

Hi! My name is Leo and I'm a current 4th year Pure math/CS student at Waterloo. I have over four years of experience in helping students get past their confusion and make sense of difficult material.

My past experience includes:
- Private tutoring for algorithms courses
- Teaching assistant (tutorials, office hours, grading) for compilers course
- Calculus tutor for the University of Waterloo across several terms
- High school math tutor for 2 years

About the lesson

My lessons are tailored for high school and university students tackling everything from introductory calculus to advanced pure math and computer science. Having spent multiple academic terms formally supporting university students through rigorous courses like calculus and compilers, my teaching philosophy centers on building intuition rather than just memorizing formulas or syntax.

Here is what a typical session looks like:

Concept Review: We pinpoint exactly where the disconnect is in your lecture notes and clear up the underlying theory.

Active Problem Solving: We work through your problem sets together, whether that means breaking down a dense mathematical proof or debugging code step-by-step.

Exam & Competition Prep: We tackle past papers and targeted examples to build your confidence for midterms, finals, or math competitions.

Whether you are a high school student aiming to ace your AP exams and math competitions, or a university student trying to survive rigorous calculus and computer science requirements, we will set up a clear, stress-free plan to get you there.
