About Derrick
Hello, I'm Derrick, and I'm currently a university student studying at Monash.
Music has been a very strong passion of mine throughout my life, performing in various chamber groups and solos. I would love to share my experience, expertise, and passion with you all!
I am offering private cello and theory tutoring for all levels and ages, either at my home in Clarinda 3169 or online.
From my teaching experience, I prioritise having fun during lessons and aim to provide tailored practice methods that ensure improvement.
Here are my experiences and qualifications:
- LmusA Diploma with Distinction
- AmusA Diploma
- Music Scholar and Principal Cellist at Camberwell Grammar School
- National Music Competition (StrikeAChord) Finalist and Australian Music Prize winner
- Multiple Eisteddfod prizes both as a soloist and chamber group
- Attended the Australian Chamber Orchestra (ACO) Academy and AYO National Music Camp
- Experienced in playing in symphony orchestras, chamber orchestras, and as a soloist
- Over 1 year of teaching experience at school as an assistant
