About MacKenzie
I am an English/Creative Writing student at UBC with a passion for teaching! I took Honours English in high school, and graduated with Academic Honours and Principal's List in 2018. I have experience coaching and volunteer-teaching in schools, as well as speaking to ESL university students. I have 2 published works of poetry as well as 2 awards in writing.

My classes are intended for grades K-12. When it comes to creative writing and poetry, students are intimidated by the thought of being openly creative. I'm able to teach technical points of writing creatively and poetry, as well as help students come up with and articulate their ideas. At a creative lesson, I will teach students a variety of ways to get inspiration for their creative topics, and help them get it down on paper. Afterwards, I will help them refine their work and make it into a masterpiece using the craft points of writing!
