About Jonathan
I’m an international business student in my final year at the University of Sheffield. I have a school age sister who I have been tutoring for years, and would like to offer my help to others during the term time. I've also volunteered as a coordinator for a youth programme aimed at kids, in which I assisted with homework and planned extracurricular activities.

My teaching method is typically geared towards ensuring students are feeling motivated and confident enough to demonstrate what they've learned once they are back in school. I start by trying to understand what level they're at and start to identify any possible weaknesses. Asking kids what they like/dislike about their schoolwork is a good start. Once we have a good foundation, I believe that the work becomes more approachable, and with a good dose of positive reinforcement, students start to see they are capable and become more willing to get the work done. I also think it's important to avoid burnout by giving them a calm and relaxed learning environment.
