About Maria Kate
Hi! I’m Maria Kate, a senior at the University of Pennsylvania studying Philosophy, Politics & Economics (PPE) with a minor in Consumer Psychology. My interdisciplinary background has given me experience across writing, economics, politics, philosophy, psychology, and Spanish, as well as strong analytical and communication skills. I also scored a 1530 on the SAT and understand firsthand how stressful academics and the college admissions process can feel. I’m patient, approachable, and genuinely enjoy helping students feel more confident in their abilities. Whether you need help mastering a subject, preparing for an AP or SAT exam, strengthening an essay, or navigating college applications, I’ll tailor our sessions to your individual goals and learning style.

As a senior at the University of Pennsylvania studying Philosophy, Politics & Economics (PPE) with a minor in Consumer Psychology, I offer personalized tutoring across a wide range of subjects, including English and essay writing, philosophy, politics, economics, psychology, and intermediate Spanish. I can also help students with AP-level coursework and exam preparation in relevant humanities and social science subjects.
I especially enjoy working with high school students on college applications, including personal statements, supplemental essays, brainstorming, editing, and overall application strategy. My approach is supportive and personalized, I want students to understand the material, strengthen their writing and critical-thinking skills, and feel genuinely confident in their work.
