About Joana

I’m Joana and I’m currently studying at University of Melbourne. During the time in high school, I was an assistant teacher in several subjects I have been teaching for more than two years. I love reading books and creating arts and crafts so I love to incorporate arts and creativity into my teaching methods. I know that math sometimes is boring because it revolves around numbers and formulas so I always try to incorporate fun methods into Math, for example turning formulas into poems or adapting math problems into real life examples. I always want to know each of my students’ personalities so that I can match and change my teaching techniques that will be suitable for each student.

About the lesson

A tutorial lesson will be divided in 3 parts:
- 10 mins (Past gaps): Revise previous lesson, check up homework and any difficulties. Record scores from school, check any upcoming exam
- 40 mins (Current work): Focus on today lesson’s topic, practice and do work
- 10 mins: Lesson wrap up, assign homework, prepare next lesson
