About Kirsten
Inspiring Confidence Through Expert Guidance & Creative Expertise
Hello! I’m an experienced teacher and published illustrator with a degree in Illustration and a background in classroom education. Whether you are looking to build a compelling art school portfolio or simply want to explore drawing in a welcoming, pressure-free environment, my goal is to help you gain true creative confidence and technical skill.
Why Study With Me?
Qualified Teaching Experience: As a trained educator, I know how to break down complex drawing techniques into encouraging, step-by-step lessons tailored entirely to how you learn best.
Professional & Award-Winning Practice: My own practice spans observational drawing, traditional ink illustration, and narrative visual storytelling, giving students direct access to practical, industry-proven techniques.
A Tailored, Supportive Environment: I meet every student where they are—whether you're a complete beginner overcoming a fear of the blank page or a young artist refining a portfolio for higher education.

My lessons focus on demystifying drawing and building confidence through practical hands-on practice. I enjoy breaking down complex visual concepts into clear, accessible steps.
I blend structured technical guidance with a supportive, encouraging environment. Rather than forcing a rigid style, I work with your natural ways of seeing, helping you master fundamental drawing techniques- such as proportion and mark-making- while developing your own artistic voice.
Qualifications & Experience
Qualified educator: Background in professional classroom teaching, bringing clear scaffolding, patience and structured lesson planning to every session.
Professional Illustrator: Degree in illustration with years of practical creative experience across traditional ink mediums, narrative work, and digital production.
Award-Winning Storyteller: Published creative background with practical expertise in sequential art, page composition, and visual narrative techniques.
