About David
I've been working with Java for over 20 years and I have designed and written several commercial projects of several hundred thousand lines of code. I also teach at the University of Birmingham at Undergraduate and Masters level and I understand that students sometimes require individual attention to excel. I've been programming for years and can quickly spot where you need help and where you don't. I'm happy to work with absolute beginners, but equally I'm happy to help more experienced developers that are switching from other languages or brushing up on their skills. I have a website that shows some of the fun little projects that I have done at home, as well as information about some of the simulation work that I do. Google my name Dave Kirkwood if you'd like to check that out. You can also find some tutorial videos on YouTube, just search for JavaDave YouTube if you want to check that out.

I can teach either beginner programming principles or more advanced programming by doing small or large projects. Projects will always be fun - like building a little game or app. I think it's the best way to learn because it will give you real experience and something that you can add to a portfolio to show off your skills. I can also do Leetcode, Codility or Codewars exercises. These are little puzzles that will prepare you for technical interview tests. I know that programming is an art and I'm confident that I can inspire you to learn with fun and interesting projects. Java programming is a massively in demand skill and I would love to help you to achieve your career dreams.

Perfect! Excellent!
- Alec is a fast learner and is definitely determined. I know he's a beginner but he's in at the deep end doing Javascript exercises and is working hard. He'll definitely be a great web developer one day.David's response :

I am doing a software development course and David has been helping me with some of the more challenging exercises, like Javascript functions.
He has been great - his explanations are concise and clear, and each time I emailed David a question I got a reply quicker (usually within only a few hours) than from my course tutor.
From my own experience with this tutor so far I have no reservations whatsoever recommending David to others.Very nice and patient tutor. David's online Java course is exceptional in every aspect. With comprehensive content, clear teaching, and unparalleled support, David sets a high standard for online Java instruction. His interactive approach fosters engagement and ensures student success. I highly recommend David's course to anyone looking to master Java programming.
