About Disha

I have been working with kids for over 10 years. I do college advice, high school advice. I am experienced in Science, Mathematics, and English along with other STEM-related activities. I am compassionate and will make sure your child is set up for success.

About the lesson

I do the 'see one, do one, teach one" method most of the time. I feel as though kids need to really practice in order to learn. Here is my weekly lesson subject to change. Chemistry- Stoichiometry Monday: 1.30 hours- Introduction. I will introduce the child to the topic of stoichiometry. I will play videos, give a lecture about the requirements to complete stoichiometry problems. Tuesday: 1.30 hours- Step-by-step instruction. I will show the child how to properly perform a stoichiometry calculation including all the tricks, and ways to check yourself to make sure you have the correct answer. I will give lectures and show videos and make sure your child has a firm understanding. (SEE ONE) Wednesday: 1.30 hours- practice. I will then make your child practice several problems, give them multiple examples. This will allow them to come up with questions they have, if they are struggling on a specific part of solving problems and so forth. (DO ONE) Thursday: 1.30 hours- Switch. I will then switch roles. I am the student, and your child is the teacher. They will teach me how to perform the calculation; I will ask questions to make sure they really understand, and this will be my way of testing their knowledge in a fun way. Friday: 1.3 hours- test. I will answer any final questions your child may have. Then I will test them. If they pass with high marks, we will move on to the next lesson if not, we will reevaluate and make sure the child understands the topic completely.
