About Nicole
I am a passionate and dedicated language teacher with experience in both English and French instruction. I have always been drawn to language as a tool for connection, expression, and opportunity, and I find great fulfillment in helping others develop their confidence and skills in English. Teaching EAL allows me to support learners from diverse backgrounds, tailoring lessons to their specific needs and goals. I believe that language learning should be both practical and empowering, and I strive to create a warm, encouraging environment where students feel motivated and supported on their journey.

My EAL lessons are for anyone over the age of 12 who wants or needs to learn English. A lesson is one hour long, but can be extended if necessary. I focus on building confidence and fluency through meaningful conversation, real-life contexts, and personalised activities that reflect the learner’s goals and interests. I use a range of strategies including scaffolding, visual support, and guided practice to make language accessible and engaging. I also encourage self-awareness and independent learning by incorporating metacognitive strategies, helping learners to reflect on their progress and develop effective study habits. My aim is to create a supportive and flexible learning environment where students feel comfortable taking risks and making steady, confident progress in English.
