About Kelly
My goal as a tutor is to both help you, and make you feel comfortable enough to learn from me. I understand that some subjects can be hard to comprehend, especially if your teacher's teaching style does not fit your preferred learning method. That is why I will take my time to create a well thought thorough plan that best works for you, so you can excel in whatever lesson you need my tutoring help in. Since the age of 6, I have always excelled in writing and have been above my reading levels. My writing has been considered top-notch in the majority of my English classes, and I have been asked to publicly speak and write large speeches for school publicity. I have wanted to help others since I was young, but never found the opportunity or time to take up a tutoring job. Now, as I have more free time, I would like to tutor students, because I know how it is to struggle in subjects and be clueless, and how awkward it can be to ask for help. My teaching methods and lesson plans will be all according to how the student learns best, if needed we can repeat lessons free of charge if the topic wasn't learned the first time or two. If I see that the student is having a hard time following through, I will go back to basics and be very thorough until finding a method that works for them. For example, in writing, I would have my student show me their prior work, whether it be essays, letters, paragraphs, or creative writing, to see their knowledge on the topic and begin teaching from that point. If they had no prior work, I would have them write a small, simple paragraph for me to analyze.
