About Tara
Hi! I'm Tara, and I love helping young singers discover and free their unique voice.
I've studied voice for over 20 years, including six years with Bon Jovi's vocal coach, Mary Jo Duprey. I earned my B.A. in Theatre from UCLA and perform professionally in musicals throughout Los Angeles, as well as musical improv at Upright Citizens Brigade. Most recently, my performance as the Dragon in Shrek earned an NAACP Theatre Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
Working with children has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career. I spent eight years as an elementary school substitute teacher with LAUSD, served as a musical theatre director at Youth Academy of Dramatic Arts, and have coached young performers privately in singing and acting.
My lessons combine decades of vocal training with years of experience working with children. I create a warm, encouraging environment where students feel safe to explore their voice, build confidence, and develop healthy vocal technique while singing music they genuinely love. Whether your child is brand new to singing or preparing for auditions and performances, my goal is to help them grow as both a singer and a confident performer.

-we will sing material you love to sing, addressing any challenging areas and mapping a path to singing it confidently and with healthy technique every time
-I can help you learn new songs, build your repertoire, and learn how to not only sing the song but act through the song
