About Johannes
In the summer of 2014 I had two weeks of work experience with a pedagogue in a local kindergarten. There I focused on developing verbal skills and number comprehension while encouraging individual interests for each of the six children I was responsible for. In addition, I had to supervise the children in play while ensuring inclusion and sometimes engage in conflict solving. In fall 2017 I was used as a substitute teacher for the French class at my old high school where I had to follow the curriculum and program set out by my former teacher.
Outside of academia I have tutored family friends and their children, mainly in English and French, and in 2018-2019 I volunteered for Helseutvalget, a state-funded organization working to promote mental and sexual health among teens and young adults. One night per week I worked for their chat service, providing advice and comfort, for which I had to take courses in adolescent communication and risk factors concerning drugs and mental health.
