About Kelvin
I am a 22-year-old Canadian student currently on a year out from school. I finished my Architecture BSc degree at The Bartlett in 2021 and have worked for one year in London since then. As a student that has previously worked with tutors on my online university application, I believe that I am at the perfect age to mentor anyone that is looking for undergraduate education in architecture. From my personal experience, tutors with extensive years of experience in the architecture industry often have left their creativity and playfulness in the past. Don't get me wrong, they are great for practical skillsets in making a real and functional building, but if anything can be said about the top architecture schools in the world is that they value uniqueness in their students' approach and emphasize on the exploration of never-been-done-before ideas.

I have always wanted to connect with students that share my interest in architecture - I have a YouTube channel, "KelvinDoesArchitecture". Through two years of creating content, I have assisted 30+ students in their acceptance to UCL.

As a "top of the class" graduate from UCL's Architecture BSc program - second highest overall grade in my graduation class, I will give my best advice on any architectural topics you may be interested in whether it be school/job application, portfolio, essay, etc.
These sessions aim to assist you in your application or studies at the very best universities in the world. Every session will be personalized in order to best achieve the student's objective.
I also offer my students an insight into my personal architectural works (Linked in the "About Kelvin" section) as well as experience at school and in practice.
- Each session focuses on one or a mixture of topics below -
[Project]
Project oriented sessions focus on providing the students with an experience of creating and building on their own architecture projects. The project is driven by your interest and the level of complexity of the project is based on your personal goal. It can be an introduction to the architecture field, a project that will be in your university application, or even a project that you are submitting during your study at the university.
[Portfolio]
Portfolio-focused sessions are more catered toward the overall construction of a concise, beautiful, and well-narrated index of work. Students can expect to learn how best to order their portfolio as well as to speak about their work. This is extremely important for the interview stage of university applicants. Please find the example of my own personal school portfolio in the "About Kelvin" section below.
[Skills]
Skills workshop covers a variety of techniques from hand-drawing, and project ideation, to using 2D and 3D software. The goals of skill-focused sessions are to find the tools that best suit your workflow and to improve your ability in mediums that you enjoy.
There are certainly a lot more topics that we can discuss, for example, the interview process, school life, etc.

I have taken a couple classes with Kelvin and can honestly say he’s been very patient, yet remained challenging. He took me through the material at the pace that I was absorbing it and approached it from different angles if I didn’t quite see what he was suggesting. I’d recommend him to anyone!
Kelvin has excellent design skills showcased by his wonderful portfolio. He has also tutored and exchanged ideas with me during our time at the Bartlett and always manages to reach the best solutions when designing.
