About
I’m Sham, based in Weybridge. I came into tutoring as a natural extension of my work with young people — I’ve spent my career trying to understand what makes individuals tick, what gets in the way, and how to help them move forward.
I work best with students who need more than someone to go through textbook content with them. Whether that’s a student who’s capable but disengaged, one who’s anxious about exams, or one who simply hasn’t found an approach that works for them yet — I find that challenge genuinely interesting rather than frustrating.
Outside of work I think deeply about people and systems, which is probably why I ended up in social work — and why tutoring and mentoring feel like a natural fit rather than just a side income.

I’m a qualified social worker with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree, offering private tutoring for secondary school students at KS3 and GCSE level, as well as one-to-one youth mentoring for young people who want to develop ambition, confidence, and direction.
On the academic side, I have experience working in a school environment delivering group sessions and supporting students with SEN needs. I tailor every session to the individual — whether your child needs to build confidence, close a gap before exams, or push for higher grades. I also hold an Enhanced DBS certificate.
I also offer mentoring drawing on my professional background working with young people in high-stakes environments, I offer structured one-to-ones helping students understand their strengths, develop their thinking, and get intentional about their future. This isn’t counselling — it’s dedicated support for young people who are ready to think seriously about who they’re becoming.
