About Rey

Hi, I'm Rey and I've been playing chess for more than 10 years. I have achieved several awards including:
- 2024 Victorian Secondary Open Final Winner
- Victorian Junior Chess Championship U16 (3rd place)
- Victorian Junior Chess Championship U14 (1st place)
- Victorian Junior Chess Championship U12 (3rd place)
- 2019 Australian School Teams Chess Championship Board 1 Prize
- 2017 & 2018 Australian School Teams Chess Championship Board 2 Prize

Chess has always been a huge passion of mine and I hope to use the knowledge I have to improve and accelerate other chess players.

About the lesson

In my lessons, I hope to focus on the basic fundamentals and tactics for those who are new to chess, and branch this knowledge out to different types of openings, including the ones I play. For intermediate players, we will not only focus on openings and endgame tactics, but we will further dive into the mid game and how to think in order to have the best chance at winning. This is generally the hardest skill to learn, and I hope to aid you in this way of thinking that will give you a great advantage in the game.
