My approach to tutoring Mandarin and Cantonese is highly personalized and student-centered. I focus on building a strong foundation in pronunciation and tones, which are crucial in both languages. I incorporate practical conversation practice, real-life scenarios, and cultural context to ensure that students not only learn the language but also understand its use in everyday situations.
Typical Length of a Lesson:
Each lesson is designed to be 30-60 minutes long, depending on the student's preference and learning pace. This flexibility allows us to cover topics thoroughly while maintaining student engagement.
Qualifications/Experience:
I hold an MA in Translation Studies from Durham University and have 8 years of experience tutoring both Mandarin and Cantonese. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with students of all ages, from young children to adults, and at all levels, from absolute beginners to advanced learners.
