About Eleanor
I started tutoring by coaching the middle and high schoolers on my Speech and Debate team. As president of that group, I worked with students of all ages and backgrounds to make speech writing a little less daunting. I've continued this people-focused approach in college when editing essays. Writing can be a vulnerable and overwhelming process, and, as a current student, I understand those concerns. I use my knowledge to be approachable and clear in my feedback so students can have the tools to feel more confident in their essays.

I approach lessons by showing students methods that simplify the writing and reading process. It can be easy to be overwhelmed by information, especially in research papers!
I focus on these major steps in the writing process to make it less intimidating:
1. Research/ textual analysis
2. Outlining
3. Drafting
4. Self editing and peer editing
My lessons largely cater to high school students who are struggling to make their writing clear and concise. Due to my background in speech writing, I aim to show students that more words don't necessarily make your work better Instead, the essays they will write in college focus on conveying your argument simply and directly for the reader.
