About Clara
Teaching violin matters because I prefer the clarity of sound over the ambiguity of feeling. Most people struggle with tone production and spiccato and staccato bowing before they understand their instrument.
My work with 391 students has shown me that technical habits dictate success. I hold a BMus degree from the Australian National Academy of Music and have spent 6 years in the studio. You can expect a focus on tuning by ear, rhythm and timing, and vibrato. We should chat about your current goals.

Setting the metronome to a slow tempo allows us to isolate complex shifts in your bowing technique. A BMus background informs how I break down orchestral playing and ear training for my pupils. You receive recorded playback of tricky passages for home practice to ensure accuracy between our meetings. This is essential work.
Grading exam prep for ABRSM and Trinity happens through methodical preparation and careful review of your scores. I invite you to join a session soon.
