About Kirsty

I am currently completing a Bachelor of education at University of Canberra and am looking to enhance my practical skills for when I enter the workforce. I have 4 years experience as a tutor and am willing to tutor groups of any sizes and age groups.

About the lesson

My teaching method is very proactive. While I will demonstrate the actions the student is learning I expect the student to take a hands on approach to their education. While my method may include repeating the same action multiple times this is because I need to be sure the student fully understands the actions and did not just "fluke" the action.

Kirsty and I were both in the same year of high school, up until my final year I wasn't a good student and didn't try in school. My writing was bad and I didn't understand any of the techniques used in English analysis. Her style of teaching allows you to not just learn a concept but put that concept into practice and get detailed and concise feedback. For example, if I were to give her an essay draft. She would highlight areas where I could have used stronger techniques and wording. Explaining the why's and hows of English writing. If you are a student who is dedicated to achieving the best you can in English, I cannot recommend Kirsty enough as an English tutor.
