About Kendric
I was the last private student of the great Barry Harris. Before his passing I studied privately at his house for 2 years every weekend. I learned a number of things from him, things I wouldn't have learned on my own, or from anywhere else. It was inspiring and it inspired me to teach so that I could bestow that same feeling he gave me to others. Originally, I am from St. Petersburg Florida. While I was there, I taught private lesson students on Piano, Saxophone, Clarinet, and Piano. Those students have gone to win competitions all over the state of Florida and just recently 2 of them have been accepted to the university of Miami, the Frost school of music. I give my all into each student, it's more of an honor for me to be met with curious minds, and creative individuals looking to understand the world I love and live in. For that reason alone, I do whatever I can to feed you with as much knowledge as I can (on a gradient), so you come to find a passion for it as well.

I am a Grammy Award Winning Saxophone Player and Arranger. I am also a professional musician on the New York music scene. I have worked with many artists and great musicians including Barry Harris, Roy Hargrove, and Jon Faddis. Currently, I am the tenor saxophonist and arranger for Samara Joy in her latest project, and I'm featured on numerous recordings of hers, including the most recent recording an arrangement of mine of the composition "Lush Life" by Billy Strayhorn.
I teach musical techniques, I've studied a wide variety of music and pride myself in being able to understand where a musician is coming from, where they want to go, and how to guide them there. This includes the techniques of the instrument, improvisation techniques styles and approaches, and understanding the nuance of the music they love. I teach with a love and passion for music. This applies to and translates to any age and to any level. It's only limited to those who really truly love music or have an interest in it and want to learn how to apply this new skill to their life.

I charge 40 dollars for the lesson, for 1 hour. However, so you are able to get to know me, and I can get to know you I always give the first lesson free of charge.
